Nailin' it.

You know I can relate .. except for the fifty jobs at once bit.

Wouldn't recommend the pill and drinkage...I experienced light dosages a dozen yrs + back and that led to

weekly shenanigans against my 9-5...ie "no anxiety, no problem", lost my mind, crazy enough as it is.

Lately laying low(er)

Which now brings me to mention the above photos...the Latin now takes credit cards, that photo's ancient.

As for Benders (best chicken schnitzel sandwich around) I almost went tonight for Noise Pop's Happy Hour to watch the great Jacob Aranda play, but decided best to stay Oaktown side and take it easy...down some chicken thighs and taters and a quart of ice cream, and watch American Friend because Bruno Ganz was the best! Haven't seen since 1980

Keep up the good work and thanks for the inspiration!

Ain't it the truth? I've gotten too old to enjoy drinking like I once did. And that's good! Great Gary Stewart quote too, I still miss him and those great drinkin' songs!

How folks handle their drinking problem (TY for the Gary S quote!) is endlessly fascinating to me. I love hearing about your sober ish-ness. It’s been easier for me to abstain than to try to moderate. My drinking problem is a thinking problem -like you said, an obsession. With support, I was able to drop the struggle by not picking up. And damn straight, Lexopro helps mightily with the anxiety that drove me to self medicate. Love your column and you!

I thought I had a handle on it with moderation -- as a matter of fact, I really did -- but this late development where even a hint of hooch makes me want to go to bed, it's kind of like a gift. Regardless, it feels so much better to have clarity and not to have the continual flywheel of hangover - hair of the dog. I guess I traded my nights for mornings?
